Lisa Beaman, Business Development Manager, Imtech Engineering Services Central
I joined Imtech in June 2015. I’ve been in the construction industry for 15 years and have worked for an Architect, Design Engineers, M&E sub-contractors and Contaminated Land specialists. It’s a great industry to work in, just take a look at your local skyline there are some fantastic buildings surrounding us all.
I’m also involved with a couple of industry associations, the West Midlands National Association of Women in Construction and Midlands branch of The Forum for the Built Environment.
What’s your typical day like?
No two days are ever the same in Business Development; I have a varied role that’s client focussed with a drive to deliver. I spend a lot of time visiting clients, listening, sharing and gathering intelligence for our project pipeline. Also, making sure they are aware of how Imtech can help them and how our people can really add value to their projects.
How have you made a difference to our clients?
One of our clients recently said ‘I was very impressed with Lisa and how she conducts herself. She is customer focussed, very polite and her turnaround in response is brilliant.’ Feedback like that is always good to hear.
What’s the most fulfilling aspect of your role?
Working as part of a team, sharing the same vision and aspiration; to win that opportunity!
What makes you proud to work for Imtech?
One thing I’ve definitely seen since I’ve been at Imtech is they have great values, people and an impressive portfolio of projects.
If you met a potential employee, what would you tell them about why you enjoy working for Imtech?
You really feel you can make a difference and you’re heard as an individual – you matter and they care.
Being in construction is an opportunity to work with some very talented individuals, to learn from the best and I can definitely say Imtech is where I’ve found some of the best.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I’m a social butterfly and I love visiting my friends and family, especially sharing those special moments, like my nephew swimming for the first time and my niece’s first day at school.
I have also recently learnt to knee board and am looking to take my boating licence, to be able to drive my speedboat!
