Added on: 13/12/2017

Imtech have been appointed to deliver the £18.3m mechanical and electrical installation project facilitating the redevelopment of the area above the Royal Mail’s sorting office in Mount Pleasant, North London.

The Imtech Engineering Services team have recently undertaken extensive value engineering of the scheme, along with surveys to establish the condition of existing systems. The next stage sees the team undertake the M&E enabling works for the project, these consist of; refurbishment of the basement to create new office space, a new driver mess and gym facility and an extension creating additional car parking and increasing the capacity of the existing sorting office.

As the work will be carried out within the current sorting office building, and to ensure it remains operational throughout the lifespan of the project, it will be completed in four phases. Work on phase one commences shortly, with phase four due for completion in 2021.

‘Following the success of our installation at the newly opened British Postal Museum,’ commented Martin McEvoy, Managing Director, Imtech Engineering Services London & South ‘We are delighted to have been awarded this project by Blue Sky Building and the Royal Mail, further developing our relationship with these clients and adding to our range of  projects in London.’
