Imtech to deliver on new teaching facility at Durham University
Imtech has been appointed to deliver the £5.7m mechanical and electrical services installation for the new Centre for Teaching and Learning at Durham University, working alongside client, Galliford Try.
As part of the buildings’ energy savings targets; achieving an “A” rated Energy Performance Certificate and a BREEAM score of ‘excellent’, Imtech Engineering Services North’s team and Galliford Try will install a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Unit and a photovoltaic array of 250 sq m that are capable of delivering 9Mw of natural energy per annum.
Imtech and Galliford Try collaborated early in the project programme to undertake an extensive engineering exercise. This has ensured the M&E services to be delivered within this new hub for educational innovation are high quality, energy efficient and cost effective.
‘We are very excited to be working on another educational project with Galliford Try in this region,’ commented Paul Sharkey, Managing Director, Imtech Engineering Services North ‘Our excellent north east engineering team look forward to being a part of creating this new cutting-edge facility that will welcome its first University students in 2019.’
