What led you to where you are today?
I began my career in manufacturing, working on a production line. I then moved into Quality Control and from there into Procurement.
I started at Imtech, when I relocated to the UK from Ireland, as a Senior Buyer. I embraced this role and enjoyed developing relationships with the Supply Chain. In 2009 I was promoted to the role of Procurement Manager.
What’s your greatest career achievement to date?
I am proud of the robust strategic partnerships I have built with our supply chain and site teams. These ensure that our procurement processes are fully understood and brings commercial benefits to the business.
What skills do you think you need to be successful?
Be open and honest. Do what you say you’re going to do and be accountable for your actions. Listen and learn from others.
What is the best thing about your job?
In our industry there is a huge amount of support and a culture of striving to deliver an exceptional job. I enjoy seeing the end result of the projects we work on, knowing that I played my part in making them successful.
What advice would you give to someone starting out on their career?
Believe in yourself. Take opportunities to learn and progress. Adopt a ‘can do’ attitude.
