Suzanne Scriven, Asset Manager, Low Carbon Solutions

‘Consider every option, each will take you on a different journey and the journey is what you make of it’

What led you to where you are today?

I was at my previous company for 26 years and I  progressed through several different roles and divisions including HR, Construction and FM Services all of which added to my skill set to take me onto the next role.

I have taken many opportunities in my career that have led me along varied and interesting paths.

What training has impacted on your career?

I have completed several behavioural science courses. These have given me the ability to understand different management styles and how to interact with different people to get the best out of them.

What skills do you think you need to be successful?

Communication is the most important skill. You need to be able to communicate at all levels, inside and outside the business.

What motivates you?

The team I work with, we are a small team and although we each have specific roles, we are very supportive of each other and are agile enough to diversify to fill gaps. It is a challenging but rewarding job.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

Meeting different people on each site including the client and different parts of the Imtech family.

What advice would you give to someone starting out on their career?

Don’t wear blinkers, always consider every option as each one will take you on a different journey, and the journey is what you make of it.
