Blackburn Meadows Renewable Energy Plant
E.ON’s Blackburn Meadows Renewable Energy Plant in Sheffield is a 30MW biomass plant that produces enough power for around 40,000 homes, converting recycled waste wood into electricity. It also displaces the emissions of around 80,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually – the equivalent of taking more than 20,000 cars off the UK’s roads.
We undertook the delivery of control solutions for the Boiler Island and fuel handling plant. These were developed independently and then ultimately combined to provide E.ON with a seamless control solution. In addition, we installed a safety system, along with mechanical and electrical systems including design and installation of all related electrical cabling
