CNWL NHS Trust appoints Dalkia in multi-service estates management deal

Central & North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL), a leading provider of community and mental health services, has appointed Dalkia to deliver estates management services across 60 of their sites.

In July 2023, the Imtech group company rebranded to Dalkia.

Worth an estimated £16m in total turnover over an initial four-year period, Dalkia has been appointed through QTS LLP, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CNWL, responsible for estates and facilities management to the Trust and other healthcare providers.

Services provided by Dalkia to CNWL include heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical, fabric and grounds maintenance services. These are complemented by comprehensive management information produced through Dalkia’s in house data platform Aurora to pro-actively monitor and manage the performance of the service.

The success of this project was in the planning and supporting a strategic approach to the outcome which was ultimately to find a service provider who would significantly improve user wellbeing and safety.

Julian Fris, Director, Neller Davies

The contract will be predominantly self-delivered by Dalkia at buildings located across North West London through to Epsom in Surrey, working with specialist supply partners.

Starting on 1st April 2021, the contract was facilitated by Neller Davies. The company has extensive experience in Facilities Management (FM) procurement and contract management history in the NHS.

Working in collaboration with QTS and the Trust, Neller Davies prepared bid specifications and a performance management system, facilitated a comprehensive asset & condition survey, and managed the online tender process.

We are looking forward to working closely with Dalkia to deliver a high-quality service, keeping our staff, patients and visitors safe and to achieve the best possible outcomes for the Trust. We are already working well together and a mutual desire to improve patient care is evident.

Gill Stafford, Managing Director, QTS

The joint project team aims to develop an effective long-term strategy which focuses on patient safety, collaboration and business growth for QTS.

Noel Clancy, Managing Director of Dalkia, added: “Our approach to patient safety and collaboration, supported by our evaluation of the needs of the Trust and QTS was a differentiator to them. Together with QTS we look forward to delivering a first class service.
