Dalkia secures £34.5m Paterson Redevelopment project

Dalkia has been awarded a £34.5m contract by IHP, a joint venture between VINCI Construction UK and Sir Robert McAlpine, to deliver the mechanical, electrical and public health services at the Paterson Redevelopment for The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, in conjunction with Cancer Research UK and The University of Manchester.

In July 2023, the Imtech group company rebranded to Dalkia.

The area is being redeveloped following a devasting fire in 2017 and will see over 113,300 sq ft of heavily serviced and engineered laboratory research space delivered across four floors, along with 92,000 sq ft of consultants workspace for Cancer Research UK.

Once completed the BREEAM ‘Very Good’ project will create a state-of-the-art cancer research facility in the heart of Manchester and further enhance The Christie’s world leading status in this field.

We are extremely proud to have secured this fantastic project which is of huge importance to the further research into Cancer providing clinicians and scientists with the space needed to work alongside each other. We are really excited to be working in partnership with IHP and further cementing our relationship.’

Tony Walker, North West Regional Director, Dalkia

To assist with the speed of installation Dalkia will maximise the use of off-site manufacturing including using prefabricated horizontal services modules and risers complete with flooring.

In addition, the large plantroom will also be constructed off-site before being lifted into position. This will provide huge benefits to the project in terms of safety, time and sustainability.
