Airspace Project

Imperial War Museum

The Imperial War Museum, Duxford, is the centre for British aviation heritage.  It is also home to the £24 million Airspace project.  With a 10,000m² exhibition area, Airspace is one of the world’s largest displays of aviation heritage and features 30 classic British and Commonwealth aircraft, a number of which are suspended from the roof.

As the mechanical and electrical engineering services contractor, we worked as part of the project team to value engineer the scheme within the client’s budget.  A Trend Building Management System was installed to provide full user-control of the installation.  We also provided the low pressure hot water heating, supply and extract ventilation, air conditioning and dehumidification, public health services, lighting and power, fire alarm and CCTV.
