Imtech to Deliver M&E package for V&A East Project
London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) has appointed Imtech to deliver the M&E package for the V&A’s new museum at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, East London.
The Imtech Engineering Services team will undertake the installation of the shell and core mechanical, electrical and public health services at the brand-new museum at Stratford Waterfront. Designed by Dublin-based architect O’Donnell + Tuomey, the five-storey building forms part of the new East Bank cultural and educational quarter. The £1.1bn East Bank development, which also includes BBC music studios, a new Sadler’s Wells theatre and two new university campuses for UAL’s London’s College of Fashion and UCL, has been master-planned by Allies and Morrison and is being project managed by Mace.
‘We are delighted to have been awarded this prestigious project and to be working, once again, with LLDC and Mace’, commented Steve Wignall, Managing Director, Imtech Engineering Services. ‘It builds on our longstanding relationship with both organisations that began with us successfully delivering a number of M&E projects for the 2012 London Olympics including the Velodrome and continued with the transformation of the Olympic Stadium into the state-of-the-art multi-use London Stadium.’
Rosanna Lawes, Executive Director of Development at the London Legacy Development Corporation, said: ‘It’s great to welcome Imtech back onto the Park to work on the new V&A East museum. East Bank, one of the largest and most exciting culture and education projects in the world, is vital to our regeneration plans and will play a key role in London’s economic recovery from the pandemic.’
