What brought you to Imtech?

People I knew worked at Inviron and spoke highly about the company so I joined when the opportunity presented itself.

How has your career progressed to date?

My first job was an electrical apprentice, following qualification I became a self-employed Electrician. I joined Inviron in 2014 as an Electrician before becoming an Electrical Supervisor. The company supported my development into a Technical Compliance Engineer, then Technical Manager. My current role is an Account Manager on Energy Contracts.

What’s your greatest career achievement to date?

Designing and installing an interactive entertainment system for a Children’s Ward at a local hospital. It enabled the children access to various forms of entertainment via a touch screen in their bedrooms. Going to work was a pleasure.

What training have you had that has impacted on your career?

I think all training has an impact, it helps you grow in confidence and build knowledge. I’ve completed the ILM 5 Leadership and Management qualification and I think my electrical apprenticeship gave me many core skills and life skills

What skills do you think you need to be successful?

Understanding others, supporting one another inside and outside of work and utilising others knowledge is key. Also being adaptable so you can deal with challenging situations as they arise.

What advice would you give to someone starting out on their career?

Be committed and never be afraid to ask questions. Set goals and be proud of all your achievements.

Why do you enjoy working at Imtech?

The people are fantastic and all pull together when required, as the current challenges have proven.
