What brought you to Imtech?

I joined Imtech in 2010 as I was keen to join a premier MEP Contractor and they fitted the bill.

How has your career progressed to date?

My career started as a HVCA Technician Engineering Apprentice in 1983. This gave me a great grounding and skill set, especially in design and build. I’ve worked on many prestigious projects over the years in the UK, Australia and France.

What’s your greatest career achievement to date?

I was instrumental in winning, designing and delivering of one of Imtech’s flagship projects,the Carbon Neutral Laboratory at the University of Nottingham,in 2013.

What training have you had that has impacted on your career?

I undertook a Master of Science degree whilst working full-time.I became a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers in 2005 and I’ve also completed the Imtech Management Development Programme.

What skills do you think you need to be successful?

I think resilience and the ability to adapt and evolve, as it’s a constantly changing industry. Having the ability to think outside the box is also key for me. Always ask questions, having an enquiring nature increases knowledge and expertise.

Why do you enjoy working at Imtech?

I work with great people, some of whom I’ve known for many years. It’s an exciting time in the company and the industry. I’m looking forward to the future opportunities that will come from the government’s net zero carbon strategy.
