You will also be the business owner for Breathe’s Quality Management Systems. Breathe is part of Imtech, who are jointly owned by EDF Energy and Dalkia, and one of the UK’s leading technical services engineering businesses. There is an essential requirement to support the delivery of an energy service model by analysing data, producing reports for savings on energy conservation measures and investigating and developing proposals on further energy saving ideas. The energy reports form a key part of the ‘Energy Service’ post project completion to ensure the energy saving measures installed are effective and are maintained. Your relationships will be to report the success of energy saving measures quarterly to Hospital Trust clients. Further work with the Asset Performance, Design and Construction teams shall ensure the business is developing adequate and robust processes to ensure that during the design and construction phase project shall deliver the contracted savings with valuable learnings and opportunities fed back

Key Duties

Working directly for the Senior Energy Manager, your overarching responsibility will be to successfully support the delivery of an energy service model by analysing data, producing reports for savings on energy conservation measures and investigating and developing proposals on further energy saving ideas.

Undertake analysis of data and provide outputs such as benchmarking, load profile review with contractual and financial impact.

  • Undertake site surveys highlighting energy performance improvement opportunities through good engineering practices.
  • Determine the potential savings, cost and simple payback for each measure using proprietary software, modelling tools and specialist information.
  • Contribute narrative on each of the measures including graphs, diagrams, and photographs for insertion into the project deliverable as required by the Senior Energy Manager.
  • Execute your role within the parameters set under the Breathe Energy Project Management Framework including responsibility for allocated time, governance of data and associated analysis, internal senior management and client communications.
  • Active participate in client presentations and meetings as required.

Key results and Objectives:

  • Provide monthly and quarterly energy reports for a select number of Hospital Trust sites
  • Analyse data to provide recommendations to t heh operational teams to develop business learning and expertise
  • Investigate further energy saving opportunities and minimise risk in financial and operational performance.
  • Assist the Senior Energy Manager to develop performance enhancing improvements from concept through to initial investment proposal through to the M&V stage, interfacing with the Design Team to help develop a thorough investment stage proposal
  • Produce and automate M&V reports using proprietary energy management system (EMS) tools.

Skills & Experience

  • An understanding of energy conservation measures and the process to deliver studies accordingly.
  • Good personal, time and resource management.
  • Proficient in the use/application of analytical tools including Excel, Macro, Energy Pro etc.


  • Knowledgeable in at least four and proficient in others with respect to energy and carbon performance:
  • Energy & carbon management; Lighting; HVAC; Central Plant; Energy generation; infrastructure (e.g., district heat & HV); Renewables; Metering & monitoring; Building fabric; Strategy and change management.


  • Preferred experience in people management
  • A good understanding of energy conservation technologies and their application.
  • Good personal, time and resource management.
  • Experience with the use/application of energy management analytical tools.


  • Bachelor degree in a related subject, CEng (or working towards), Member of Energy Institute, preferably CIBSE LCEA or equivalent.
  • 0 – 4 years post grad experience
